Plagiarism Policy
Jurnal SEKAR is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and trust in its peer-reviewed scientific content. To maintain these standards, we take the issue of plagiarism very seriously.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) as: “When a person presents another's work (data, words, or theory) as if it were his or her own and without proper acknowledgment.”
In the context of Jurnal SEKAR, this definition applies to:
- Data, Images, Words, or Ideas: Taken from any material in electronic or print format without adequate attribution.
- Direct or Indirect Use: Any direct or indirect use of such material must be properly acknowledged in all cases.
Responsibilities of Authors
- Proper Attribution: Authors must always cite their sources and provide URLs for electronically referenced versions.
- Originality: Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work is original and free from any form of plagiarism.
- Pre-Submission Check: Authors should check their manuscripts for similarity and ensure that the maximum allowable limit of 20% similarity is not exceeded before submission.
Plagiarism Detection
- Screening Process: All papers submitted to Jurnal SEKAR will be screened and checked for plagiarism using plagiarism detection tools such as Similarity Check.
- Similarity Limit: The journal allows a maximum similarity limit of 20%. Manuscripts exceeding this limit will be reviewed and may be rejected based on the extent and context of the similarities.
Consequences of Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected, the following actions will be taken:
- Before Publication: If plagiarism is detected during the submission or peer review process, the manuscript will be rejected immediately, and the author(s) may be banned from submitting to the journal for a specified period.
- After Publication: If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article will be retracted, and a retraction notice will be published. The author(s) may also be banned from submitting to the journal for a specified period.
Reporting Plagiarism
- Allegations: Allegations of plagiarism should be reported to the editorial office. The journal will follow COPE guidelines to investigate and address the allegations fairly and transparently.
- Investigations: The editorial team will conduct a thorough investigation, and the corresponding author will be requested to provide a response. Based on the findings, appropriate actions will be taken.
