Journal of Islamic Economics and Halal Industry adheres to a stringent and ethical peer review process to ensure the publication of high-quality research articles. The peer review process is fundamental to maintaining the integrity and quality of our journal. Below is a detailed description of our peer review policy:
- Submission and Initial Assessment
- Online Submission: All manuscripts must be submitted through our online submission system. Manuscripts submitted via email or other means will not be considered.
- Initial Assessment: Upon submission, each manuscript is initially assessed by the editorial team to ensure it meets the basic requirements and scope of the journal.
- Peer Review Process
- Reviewer Selection: The Editorial Board is responsible for selecting suitable reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Typically, each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.
- Double-Blind Review: The journal employs a double-blind review process, where both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous to each other. This ensures impartiality and prevents bias.
- Criteria for Review: Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on several criteria, including novelty, objectivity, methodology, scientific impact, conclusions, and references. Reviewers provide detailed and constructive feedback to assist authors in improving their manuscripts.
- Decision-Making
- Editorial Decision: The final decision regarding the acceptance, revision, or rejection of a manuscript is made by the Editorial Board, taking into account the reviewers' comments and recommendations.
- Communication: The Section Editor communicates the final decision to the corresponding author, along with any reviewer comments and suggestions for improvement.
- Confidentiality
- Confidentiality: The Editorial Board ensures the confidentiality of all submitted materials and communications with reviewers. Reviewers are also required to maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts they review and not use or disclose any information obtained during the review process.
- Ethical Considerations
- Ethical Guidelines: All submissions must adhere to the journal's ethical guidelines, including issues related to plagiarism, conflicts of interest, and research integrity. Any breaches of ethical standards will be dealt with seriously.
- Plagiarism Check: Manuscripts are subjected to plagiarism detection software to ensure originality.
- Appeals and Complaints
- Appeals: Authors who wish to appeal a decision must provide a detailed justification for their appeal. The Editorial Board will consider appeals on a case-by-case basis.
- Complaints: Any complaints about the peer review process should be directed to the Editor-in-Chief, who will investigate and respond appropriately.
